Costa Mesa, Calif. – June 5, 2008 – McGladrey Capital Markets LLC (formerly RSM EquiCo Capital Markets), a global investment bank, has named Scott Witter vice president.
Witter, who is based in the firm's Costa Mesa corporate headquarters, will provide merger and acquisition and capital raising advisory services to the firm's investment banking clients. His primary responsibilities will include helping expand McGladrey Capital Markets’ presence in the packaging industry segment of the basic industries sector.
“Scott brings extensive investment banking experience within several industries,” said Hector J. Cuellar, the firm’s president. “In particular, his background in the basic industries sector bolsters one of our firm’s core industry groups.”
Witter has over eight years of experience in corporate and investment banking, including buy- and sell-side mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and capital raising. His expertise spans a broad range of industries, including building products, basic industrials, paper and packaging, consumer products, healthcare, software, consumer products and business services. Prior to joining McGladrey Capital Markets, Witter served as a vice president at B. Riley & Co., a Los Angeles-based investment bank offering full-service capabilities for both public and private middle-market companies.
Witter received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of British Columbia and a master’s degree in business administration from Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business, graduating with Beta Gamma Sigma honors. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities licenses.
