COSTA MESA, Calif. - January 18, 2005 - Juan R. Morrison has been appointed managing director-regional investment banking officer for RSM EquiCo, a global investment bank specializing in mergers, acquisitions and divestitures for the North American private middle market.
Morrison, who is based in New York, will provide M&A advisory services to clients in the east coast region of the firm's affiliate RSM McGladrey, a provider of business and tax consulting services.

"His corporate finance qualifications and track record will effectively serve the RSM McGladrey offices in the east, strengthening RSM EquiCo's relationship with the firm and increasing our ability to bring deals to the market."
Morrison has more than 18 years of experience advising public and private corporations. He has marketed, structured, managed and closed a variety of M&A and corporate finance transactions in both domestic and international markets, including Mexico, Latin America and Europe.
Prior to joining RSM EquiCo, Morrison founded and was managing director of Bird Key Partners LLC, which serves middle-market, emerging-growth and small-cap public companies primarily in the media, communications and telecom industries. Morrison has also served as director of corporate finance in the merchant banking practice at IBJ Whitehall and as vice president, corporate finance, at GE Capital. He began his career as a certified public accountant with Ernst & Young.
He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Baylor University and a master's of business administration, specializing in international finance, from Fordham University Graduate School of Business. He is fluent in Spanish and has a working knowledge of Polish.
