Costa Mesa, Calif. - December 19, 2005, Hampson Industries PLC (LSE: HAMP.LN) based in the West Midlands, United Kingdom, has acquired Coast Composites Inc., a portfolio company of private equity group Hammond, Kennedy, Whitney & Company Inc. ("HKW"). The transatlantic acquisition was publicly announced with total possible consideration of $58 million.
RSM EquiCo led the negotiations, assisted in U.S. financing efforts and acted as the exclusive buy-side financial advisor to Hampson.
"The acquisition offers Hampson greater exposure to the growing demand for advanced composite materials in airframe fabrication and broadens the company's customer, market sector and engineering technology base, while bringing access to new, high growth programs. The transaction also secures greater exposure to the U.S. aerospace and defense markets and beneficially shifts Hampson's geographic mix," said Hector J. Cuellar, president of RSM EquiCo Capital Markets.
